Something to Think About

Just for today, tell your kids: I'll forget about the laundry and take you to the park. I will silence the cell phone, turn off the computer and sit with you and blow bubbles. Just for today, I will let you wear whatever you want and smile and say how perfect it is. I will skip my favorite TV shows and snuggle beside you for hours. I will let you stay up late so we can sit and count the stars.

Just for today, I will think about the mothers and fathers who no longer have their children, and I will be thankful I have you... just for today.

April 1st Memory

Elaine and I were talking today about the funny thing that Nathan did last April Fool’s Day.  He snuck outside and rang the doorbell at the front door.  When we opened the door he yelled, “April Fool’s!”  The funniest part is that he was completely naked!!

Basketball

I played my first "real" game of basketball with Nathan and Mary-Kensley this evening after work. No dribbling or anything but we really kind of played ... Nate and MK against me. It made me think about how cool it is going to be to play games and have fun with these three kids as they grow up.

Funny Things Kids Learn In School

Ever since Nathan started kindergarten this year we have been amazed at all of the things he's learned, how to read and write chief among them. Today he shared a couple other things he has learned:

1. He said that Wednesday is "Naked Day" (according to his friend Jed). Naked Day is when the boys wear their clothes to school and the girls do not.

2. Nathan said that the "A-Word" is the worst word ever. He couldn't remember what the "A-Word" was, but he said it was really bad.

I wonder what he'll learn next.
